Los Angeles

Arts & Culture

How did you ever end up with the kids today? No sense in asking, because you better have something to entertain those busy minds. That’s why The Children's Museum of Los Angeles, should be able to fill in plenty time. Afterwards, make a dash for the Los Angeles Zoo & Botanical Gardens. Thank God for sunny California. By the time you get your break, feed your own interest and take in the M. Hanks Gallery in Santa Monica that specializes in the best of African American art.

Relax & Leisure

This body-focused city is spa central. The idea of coming to the LA area and not getting a treatment is absurd. When we found out Voda Spa offered The Spa Day for $99, we knew we’d hit the jackpot. The Martini Manicure at the Paint Shop Beverly Hills is where it’s at. The shop can’t get any cuter, so be sure to make an appointment before you land. While you’re at it, call Robin Downes of Yoga Flava and get on this sista’s class schedule, you might as well work it out, since the flight is long enough.

Eats & Sips

This time around we suggest moving around the outskirts of LA and take in a scenic view of the Pacific ocean while having dinner at The Lobster, which features your fresh fare of seafood. But if you’re at the other side of LA then drive to Long Beach and order dinner at Gladstone's, while watching the boats sail on by. We love LA, but sometimes we need our eat, sips and sleeps to be in one place while giving us a break from the LA traffic. Thank God for the Canary Hotel in Santa Barbara. This hotel encompasses everything we need as a quick get-away.
